1Password 3.6.5 Crashes before even opening on Lion!

Hello,

I have been a 1Password user for quite a long time and have never encountered any problems with either the iPad or Mac versions of the App.

I upgraded to OS X Lion last week and all was working fine until today when I tried opening 1Password it just crashed and told me to either ignore or reopen. Of course reopening did nothing.

I even deleted the entire app and reinstalled, I can go as far as creating a master password and hint, but once I complete that it crashes.

Here is the crash report, I have tried booting in safe mode, verifying and repairing permissions and removing and reinstalling the app.

  • Bump ?

I hope someone from Agile can give us some support on this because it's completely destroyed my 1Password install and I really rely on it and the dozens of passwords I have

Please remove ~/Library/Preferences/ws.agile.1Password.plist file and see if that helps:

    1. Open Finder

    2. Select Go > Go to Folder menu

    3. Type (or paste): ~/Library/Preferences/

    4. Locate and delete ws.agile.1Password.plist file

Let me know how it turns out for you.

Unfortunately that did nothing. Even after removing the file it just crashes before any windows are displayed.

Anything else I could try or any info I could provide you guys so you can sort out what exactly is going on?

    Great news!

    I fixed the problem.

Apparently, and since OS X Lion is still relatively new, my date format settings were somehow changed and/or corrupted. When I tried to open Date & Time preferences it crashed as well. I then noticed on my menu bar that the date settings were incorrect so I went into Language & Text, reset the format to gregorian and USA for the rest, and now Date & Time preferences open and so does 1Password <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Luckily I have my iPad version of 1Password which has a backup of everything!

Thanks for the help anyways and consider this for future user problems

I also noticed that my date was displaying strangely in the menu bar, so I did the steps you describe and now 1Password is also working fine. I don't know how you figured out the connection, but it worked!

Thanks for the updates, folks! I'll see if there is anything more we can do on our end, but it sounds like it might be a bug in Lion. We'll keep an eye on it. This information is very helpful.

    Cheers,
