Save Certain Fields Only

I'm just asking this to clarify, in 1password is there way to save a login through the browser and to set it so that it only selects the username and the password field that will be associated with that account? I've been searching for so long now online etc that I think I may have missed it <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

    Hey lestyn,

    Thanks for asking about this.

There is not currently a way to save only certain fields. 1Password will save all the fields on the page in order to completely recreate the state when you fill it in the future. Because of the nature of web design, there is not a standard by which we can measure whether a field is a username or not. Some sites will call the username field something sensible like "username". Others, however, will call it "FieldSavingForm001Special" or something equally nonsensical.

Saving and restoring the complete state of the form fields on the page is the only reliable method for 1Password to do what it needs to do. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

Of course, you can always edit the fields manually in the Login item, but we don't recommend this since — well — saving all the fields is the most reliable. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />
