Dropbox sync failed with OAuth error message

Recently, dropbox syncing is failed for the iOS devices.

I've tried to delete 1Password.agilekeychain, then added the file back from the local backup to Dropbox.

I've tried rebuilding the data file, and it has no effect.

Attached is the error message received on the iPhone.

Diagnostics report doesn't show any configuration error.

First, let's make sure that everything is set up on the desktop.

Move your .1Passwordagilekeychain out of your Dropbox folder
Open it from its new location ith 1Password (double-click on a Mac or File > Open on Windows)
Have 1Password move it back to Dropbox (Preferences > General)
Try sync'ing again on your iPhone. If it is still not working, let's reset the sync settings.

Launch 1Password on your iPhone and go to Settings > Sync > Dropbox > Account
Tap "Reset" and "Start over"; you will be returned to the sync setup screen
Set up Dropbox sync again
I hope this helps. Please let me know how it turns out. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Thanks for the instructions, but for some unknown reason it's working fine now. I just did a reset again on the dropbox sync settings (this is without moving the 1Password.agilekeychain file in and out of dropbox folder).

I had this problem both on iPad running iOS 4.3.5 and iPhone 4 running iOS 5 beta 4 (which I assume this may cause a problem). I was thinking that it could be a dropbox authentication problem.

    But, regardless it's working now.
  • Awesome! Thanks for the update. I am glad to hear you are up and sync'ing again! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

It could have been a Dropbox issue, but I just wanted to be sure that the data file settings in Dropbox were right and that the sync settings on the iPhone weren't messed up somehow. We have seen this a few tines, but haven't been able to pin down a cause. In all cases redoing the sync settings fixed it.

I am glad that helped. If you need anything else, you know where to find us! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
