1Password 3.6.5/Safari 3.7.b2 Extension - not working

<div class="IPBDescription">Can't sign in to sites, won't save, passwords out of sync</div>I'm a very long time user of 1Passwd (1Password on the Mac, iPhone & iPad), but I'm seriously about to lose my freaking mind with this new version 3.6.5 (Build 31075)! and Lion 10.7 with Safari 5.1.

Why did you guys change the interface at the same time Lion was released ... that has to be the stupidest thing every, as you have 2 moving parts, so it's difficult to determine which is having the issues.

1Password (Safari Extension 3.7.b2) is simply not working for me in Safari, and I'm not very happy about it, as I rely upon this application!

• Today, I've added several new entries, and they've completed disappeared from logins and/or accounts. They are not there. There is zero, no trace of them!

• Moreover, those that did save are completely out of sync with what's being shown in the application and the 1Password pop-up window in Safari. The application shows username and password, but the Safari pop-up only has the password, so I can't sign in without having to cut and paste the username!

• If I change the title of an entry in Logins, and press save ... a few minutes later, it's back to what it previously was.

• On several different sites, I can't make 1Password save the login. These are HTTPS sites, and when I either click "save login" (before or after signing in to the site), nothing is saved. Nor am I automatically prompted to save the site.

My password database is stored in Dropbox, and I've done a Command-Option-Q, to update Safari after updating the extension.

Please help me resolve these issues, as it's affecting my business!

Thanks!

Hey kappabear, I apologize that I was not able to reply sooner. We have been a bit busier since Lion was released. We normally reply within 24 hours (and often within 12).

First of all, thank you for using 1Password for as long as you have.

Apple made some technical changes late in the development of Safari 5.1 and Lion which required us to scrap the past five years worth of code for the Safari extension. It was not ideal, but we are making the most of it. It won't be long before the new extension is better in every regard than the previous one. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

On that note, we have actually been cranking out updates so frequently that it can be hard to keep up with. We have actually released a few new versions since your post. Could you please try the new Beta release (3.7.1.BETA-2) and see if it fixes this problem? You can do this by going to the 1Password > Preferences window, selecting the Update panel, enable the "Include Beta versions" checkbox, and then click Check Now. Once the update is installed, try again and see if it helps.

It sounds like the Safari extension database is out of sync with the main application. Please follow the steps in the troubleshooting guide to resolve this.

Please let me know if 1Password 3.7.1.BETA-2 and version 3.7.b5 of the Safari extension help. Also, please follow the installation instructions carefully. Each step can be very important if you are having trouble.

    Thanks!
