Eric.

When I start 1Password, the master password is already filled in, you just have to hit enter.

    Hey Eric,

Please be sure you have "Never prompt for master password" disabled in 1Password's preferences. Otherwise, well, you will never be prompted for your master password. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I hope that helps. Please let me know how it turns out.

    Cheers,
  • Hi Khad,

    That works, thank you.

Why is that an extra setting? (weird)
Hi Eric,

On behalf of Khad, you’re welcome.

Many people feel safe with a specific computer, enough they want to use the option to automate the logging in process. They believe that the OS X account password is enough to secure 1Password.

Some people want to use 1Password because the other options provided by 1Password (password generator in browser, bookmarks) and not because of the security.

It’s there because it’s an option to fill different needs that people have.
