3.7.1 Diagnostic Report may give a false positive about private browsing

MartyS
MartyS AgileBits Customer Care (retired)
At times it seems like I see every one of the thousands of 1Password for Mac Diagnostic Reports that you, our customers, send us for research into hard to troubleshoot situations. In actuality I only see a fraction of them (our crack team all have this pleasure) but I do see my fair share. Because of all the in-house testing we do, I probably generate my own report on average twice a day — sometimes just for good measure (please do not pick up this bad habit!). <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

In 1Password 3.7.1, I added a new test in the Diagnostics Report to indicate if you have Safari's private browsing mode currently enabled. You will see a "false positive" if in fact, you have never used that feature. I have corrected the test to accommodate this situation and it should make it into whatever our next build is after 3.7.1. I'm sorry for any concerns this test's output in the Diagnostics Report may cause. I have appropriately said stern words to myself, and can only hope this is the worst thing I, or future Marty, do in August (of this year). <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
