Problems with 1P button in Safari

<div class="IPBDescription">scrambled 1P popup menu</div>I am running the lastest version of 1password along with latest safari extension on Lion. Everything was working fine when I upgraded to Lion and about 3 days ago when I would press the 1P button to try and log onto a website all I would get is a blank window. Then yesterday I tried uninstalling the extension many times to no avail. Now today after trying again now I get what I can only call a Scrambled popup window. See attachment.

I have totally uninstalled 1password and all files and started over but still get the same results.

Please help

Welcome to the forums, mrhappy! (nice name, too)

We have seen this same view when you have an old 3rd-party piece of software installed called "SafariSniffer". This is a SIMBL bundle from Wondershare. Uninstalling this software will completely clear up this display problem you're seeing in the 1Password Safari extension.

    Marty,

I have looked everywhere and see no reference to safarisniffer.

I have been running 1password on this mac for the last 2 years and on lion since the day the released it and it only started having the problem 3 or 4 days ago.

    Thanks for the update, mrhappy.

It may not be SafariSniffer but what you're experiencing is exactly what happens when the Safari extension framework gets broken by an unsupported extension.

Please look in /Library/ScriptingAdditions (notice it is in the root folder) and your home folder's Library/ScriptingAdditions folder. If you see SIMBL, that is likely the culprit. If you don't see SIMBL, do you see anything else in there?

In Library/ScriptingAdditions there is a file named SIMBL.osax. What do I do with it? Do I just delete it?

I deleted the above file and everything works just fine now.

    Thanks
