Hi dherzog,

    Welcome to the forums <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Yes, you can do so by setting up Dropbox syncing, which is outlined in our help pages: http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/cloud_syncing_with_dropbox.html

Note that even though the data is on the iPad, the Mac must be setup first (using a new blank keychain). I realize this is a bit counter-intuitive, which is why I'm pointing it out. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

    Thanks

    Hey dherzog,

I am sorry that you are having trouble setting up Dropbox syncing. I would love to get this resolved for you.

Our primary method of responding to our customers is electronically, for several reasons:

    * We are a small, non-centralized company, so we do not have "operators standing by".

    * Step-by-step instructions via email and the forums enable customers to refer to them at their leisure and quote them back to us if needed.

    * Our customers find it less frustrating for us to analyze the 1Password Diagnostics or other output we often request and provide clear instructions to follow, instead of wasting their time working through it over the phone and potentially making mistakes in our haste.

In most cases, questions are answered and issues quickly resolved in this manner. If not, we also offer technical support via screen sharing. This technology is built into your computer (iChat on Macs, Windows Remote Assistance on Windows) and enables you to give us temporary control of your computer, allowing us to try to diagnose the problem as if we were right there, sitting next to you. You can see what we're doing and disconnect us from your computer at any time. This feature does not permit us to reconnect to your computer without your authorization.

Because the support we provide is so technical in nature, the phone is really something we reserve as a last resort since we can't see your screen nor the Diagnostics Reports we often request. If your issue is not resolved in a satisfactory manner here, and you feel that a phone call is necessary, please let me know via a private message after we try to resolve the issue here first.

    Now, let's try to get you up and running. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

First, please be sure that you have created a data file on your Mac. When you first launched 1Password on your Mac, you would have been given the option to create a new data file or use an existing one. If you have only ever used 1Password on your iPad, you would need to create a new, empty data file on your Mac into which the iPad data can sync. If you are able to open and unlock 1Password, then you have already completed this step.

I'm sure you have already installed Dropbox on your Mac and moved your data file to the Dropbox folder from within 1Password's preferences, but I just want to make sure. Those are very necessary steps. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

Please rebuild your data file in 1Password on your Mac (Help > Troubleshooting > Rebuild Data File…), and then reset Dropbox syncing on your iPad. Open the 1Password app on your iPad and then select Settings > Sync > Dropbox > Account > Reset.

I hope that helps. Please let me know.

    Thanks!
