Trouble using 1Password with Safari 5.1 and Firefox

I have a MacBook Pro, running 10.6.8, and an HP running windows 7

and have trouble with 1P on both.

On the mac, the program won't login to my gmail accounts, Google adsense

account, or even 1P. It navigates to the site, and enters the username and

password, but nothing more. It won't finish the process.

This is the same on the PC using Firefox.

1P is updated on both computers.

What do I need to do first to trouble shoot this?

  • You might be using the Firefox password manager, not 1Password. The 1Password Firefox extension requires you to press Command-\ to populate the fields and click Login, whereas Firefox populates the page automatically but will not click Login for you. Am I right?

    I am not sure..

I have 1Password installed, and in the past have clicked on the 1P button on the toolbar in Firefox. That is 1Password, correct?

And this is on the PC, on the mac, it is the same button, and it logs right in.

Also on the mac, with Safari, it was logging in until I did the most recent update for 1P, now it fills in the username and password,

    and stops there.

Where is Agile support in all of this? Don't they participate here, or are the users left to figure this out on there own?

    Thank you for your help.

Oops. It's gone again. No 1P on my Toolbar. Where'd it go? In fact, nothing happens when i select sites, e.g. facebook. Get some sleep guys and try again

    Hi folks,

Sorry for the delay in response.

Could you both please check and make sure you have at least 1Password 3.7.2?

    Thanks

    Yes

    I have 3.7.5 Beta-3

Do I need to install a different version?

I put in a ticket to support a week ago,

    and have heard nothing.

How do I get timely help here?

I have gone without using this on Safari

because I don't have a ton of time.

I am back on trying this with Safari and I can't log in

When I enter my password the error message is..

    "problem with database"

We'll try to reply to everyone as quickly as possible, but we are receiving a lot of support requests, we received 5,000 e-mails in the last 3 weeks alone. Every member of the team is putting in extra time to help get our users the answers they deserve.

This should have been fixed with the latest version of the extension, so it sounds like this hasn't been updated along with 1Password itself (the two do update independently now, but Safari should be updating the extension automatically). We also released a new Beta today that should get things back to normal for you.

To get this new update please go to 1Password > Preferences > Updates and check 'Include Beta Versions' and then click 'Check Now' to get our latest update, version 3.7.5.Beta-4

Once that's done, please update the Safari extension to the latest version, 3.7 b14, by performing a manual update within Safari > Preferences > Extensions as we detail at the bottom of this guide:

    http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/safari_5.1_install_update.html

With some of the new changes in the update, there are few extra steps to follow. First of all, please go to Help > Troubleshooting > Restart Agent within 1Password and finally restart Safari with Command + Q if you're using Snow Leopard or Command + Option + Q if you're using lion to ensure the extension is properly reloaded.

Let me know how this turns out, Firefox 5 should also be working with the latest version of 1Password, and we can certainly help you get this restored if that's not the case.
