    Hi phoe,

    Welcome to the forums. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

It is not currently possible to fill forms using wallet items other than credit cards.

    Thanks

Then what's the point of entering any data other then credit card info into Wallet? It's certainly possible in Roboform!! I love 1Password but this frankly is stupid!

One key reason to enter this data is for the encrypted safe keeping of the information itself. I love keeping my passport info and membership information handy, yet protected — and better protected than in my actual wallet or pocket.

While every customer has a different set of needs, there aren't as many web sites that require you to fill information from the non-credit card items in your wallet. Because of that, we have chosen to not present them within the web interfaces. You can run the 1Password application at any time to Copy and then Paste values into specific web forms as the need arises.

Using my real life examples from above, I've only had one need ever to enter my passport number on a web page. I didn't mind at all having to look it up in 1Password for pasting. I know in this way that I'll never, ever, accidentally select it and get it pasted without my noticing. Even my membership numbers aren't used as credentials or ever needed by the sites they involve, and if they were a part of the log in credentials they'd be duplicated in a Logins item for instant filling.

We appreciate knowing that you'd like to see 1Password do more for you in this area than just store the data.

I also would like to be able to fill in bank account information from my browser without having to switch back to 1Password to copy and paste. If paying from a checking account is an option when I'm making an online payment, I prefer to do it that way - not that I don't like VISA, but an ACH transaction avoids the credit card fee for the merchant. While I don't need this feature every day, it happens often enough and annoys me enough that I'm posting here about it.

Thanks for letting us know you would like to see this as well, tjbode. We will take your suggestion under advisement. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with in the mean time.

    Cheers,
  • I'd also like to be able to fill in bank information automatically from the wallet menu the same way I do with my credit card. It's not uncommon to be paying through my bank account, and having to open the application, find the bank account and copy and paste back and forth is a hassle.

    Thanks,

    Tony
  • Tony,

You're right, this would be a great feature, the problem is that there isn't a common standard for how bank account forms are coded like there is for credit card forms (though not all sites actually comply with the standards) and so it would be difficult, at best, to have 1Password fill the details.

The other issue is that not every country uses the same banking system, for example the UK uses a system of sort codes and account numbers, Europe uses IBAN and BIC, the US uses a very different system and so on, so again this would mean the details couldn't be universally filled.

What may be more feasible is to make bank account details available through the extension so they can be copied and pasted as required, I can't promise if this is something we could implement but I'll mention it to our developers.
