Unable to even open 1Password now

Chrisdabs
edited August 2011 in Mac
Hi,

I am not even able to open 1Password with Snow Leopard (which I once could) and not even now with Lion...but 1Password is listed under one of my applications. The icon is grayed-out and has circle with a line through-it./Users/chrisdabs/Desktop/1Password errorr screen shot 8-6-11.png

Please let me know what I need to do to fix this problem.

Thanks,

CD

    Hi Chris

It sounds like your 1Password installation is damaged, which is keeping it from starting. This is likely also affecting browser integration. To resolve this:

    1. Download 1Password from our web site:

    http://agilebits.com/downloads

Click on the "Download Now" button under "1Password 3"

    2. Quit your web browser and 1Password, if it's running

    3. Drag the newly downloaded version of 1Password to the same location as any previous one -- replacing it

    4. Run 1Password at least once and then your web browser

Your information is stored in a data file separate from the application, so it will not be harmed by this procedure.

I hope that helps. Please let me know.

    Thanks!

  • I just today noticed a related problem. I can run the application. However the vault page never appears and I cannot get access to any of my passwords. Please help. Thanks Andrew

    Andrew,

I'm sorry for the trouble here, are you able to unlock 1Password but your data isn't visible? If so, please go to Help > Troubleshooting > Clear Cache which should get things back to normal for you.

    Please let me know,
