Can I copy a closed Knox Vault to another drive by dragging and dropping in the finder or do I need to use Knox to Move it?

Hey Robert,
You can copy/move a Knox Vault by dragging and dropping to another location using Finder, or you can Move the vault in Knox's Preferences on the Vaults tab.
Both methods work equally well.
Cheers!

Hi Chabo,
You can move the file to the fat32 formatted drive but it won't be read by any Windows computer. It can only be read via Macs. We'd recommend that the drive be formatted as HFS+ journaled, the same that our vaults are formatted with.
You can choose full disk encryption or dropping the vault onto the external drive, it is up to you. The difference is that the full disk encryption will first format the drive, create a vault that'll expand to take up the full space on the drive and a copy of Knox.app will left on it, so that you can mount it on any Macs.
You can also create a vault that you put on the external drive and it can grow to take the full space.
If you expect the external drive to only be used for encrypted data, use full disk encryption. If you want to use it with other files for the Macs, drop the vault on it instead.Flag 0
