Software Licenses broken

In Lion it is impossible to create a new software license in 1password. 1password is version 3.7.2 (build31099) but I had the same problem before I updated.

If I select Software and click the "+"-button and wait for about 3 seconds, the new software license window will vanish and instead Folders>All in the sidebar will be selected (automatically).

If I select Software and click the "+"-button and start typing immediately, after about 3 seconds I will get a NSRangeException fault-message (enclosed).

If I open 1password version 3.6.1 on an older mac running os X 10.6.8 I can see some new entries in the software license category containing the few keystrokes I was able to type before the NSRangeException came. But these entries cannot be seen in 1password on the computer running Lion.

Hope this will be fixed in a coming update.

(Oh, and please also "fix" the safari plugin - having to enter your password to find out that you have no saved logins for the current site is just stupid. Please let us select login before asking for our password).

Hello tegholm and welcome to the Forums!

It sounds like your 1Password installation may be damaged. To resolve this:

    1. Download 1Password from our web site:

    http://agilebits.com/downloads

Click on the "Download Now" button under "1Password 3"

    2. Quit your web browser and 1Password, if it's running

    3. Open your Applications folder and drag 1Password to the Trash

    4. Install the new copy of 1Password you just downloaded

    5. Run 1Password and then your web browser

Your information is stored in a data file separate from the application, so it will not be harmed by this procedure.

Please also try rebuilding your data file in 1Password on your Mac (Help > Troubleshooting > Rebuild Data File…).

I hope that helps. Please let me know.

    Cheers!

    Thanks for the help.

However the problem apparently was that I had some access problems with my user accounts Library folder.

I made a copy of the Library folder and started the computer from a backup disk so that I could delete the Library folder in my user account. When I then restarted from the built in disk, Lion made a new library folder for my account and I could copy files back from the backup. After another restart most of my applications was as before (I didn't copy all setting files back). And 1Password was functioning again.

I didn't suspect that my problem could be with my library folder since my 1Password datafile is in a Dropbox folder, and Dropbox appeared to be ok.
