  • Hi fordomatic69,

It sounds like you've got a slightly older version of both 1Password and the Safari extension installed that could be causing the issue.

To get our latest update please go to 1Password > Check for Updates from within 1Password which should prompt you to download the latest version, currently 3.7.2 at the time of writing.

Once that's done, please update the Safari extension to the latest version by performing a manual update within Safari > Preferences > Extensions as we detail at the bottom of this guide:

    http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/safari_5.1_install_update.html

With some of the new changes in the update, there are few extra steps to follow. First of all, please go to Help > Troubleshooting > Restart Agent after opening and unlocking 1Password and finally restart safari (with Command-Option-Q if you're using Lion) to ensure the extension is properly reloaded.

That should let you enter your master password within the Safari extension and start using 1Password in Safari again.

  • I am having the same problem. Running 1Password Version 3.8.6.BETA-3 (build 31147) and Safari Version 5.1 (7534.48.3). Attempting to unlock 1Password from within Safari gets the error: "safari-extension://com.agilebits.onepassword-safari-2BUA8C4S2C" and the suggestions that I restart with Cmd-Option_Q etc. See attached image
  • Hey there, ksgordon! Welcome to the forums! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I am sorry for the trouble, and that you have had to wait this long for a response(!) Hopefully it is working for you now, as we have made a lot of improvements to the extension and released several updates. Just make sure 1Password is up to date (1Password menu > Check for Updates) and then install the latest Safari extension (1Password menu > Install Browser Extensions).

If you are still having trouble, please make sure that Private Browsing is disabled. There is a bug with Safari that causes trouble for extensions if it is on. You can also try 1Password Help > Troubleshooting > Restart Agent/Helper, and restart your Mac if something is causing 1PasswordAgent to not get started properly.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions or need assistance, please let me know. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
