Feature Request: Copy button in 1PasswordAnywhere
in Mac
hi,
I'm using 1P quite a bit on linux using 1PasswordAnywhere. Something that would be really helpful is a "copy" button next to the "reveal" button in the web interface. pressing the button would then copy the password to the clipboard. it would probably make sense to add that button to the username field as well.
this would allow me to log in at least semi quickly on linux without having to manually copy the revealed passwordstring.
cheers
frank

This suggestion has come up before. Thanks for letting us know it would be useful to you as well. More and more the web browser is becoming sandboxed, so I don't know how easy it would be for a web app with no native code executing on a system to access the clipboard. This is usually considered a security risk. The only way we are able to do this in the Safari extension, for example, is because we have a background agent running on the system. We don't have that in Linux at this time.
I will definitely pass this along to the developers, but I think they are very focused on Safari and Lion at the moment still. I'll also try to remind them of it at a more opportune time as well since if it is possible, it would be very nice to have. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

fwiw, there are a lot of examples where this already works. e.g. github where you can copy the repo url to the clipboard no problem. although low priority, the change would likely be low complexity as well imho.

GitHub is using Flash there. It is easy to detect if you don't have Flash installed on your computer. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I think 1PasswordAnywhere used to actually use Flash in a similar way, but this was removed for one reason or another if I recall. I'm not sure how reliable Flash is in Linux (i.e., it's stability or even mere presence).Flag 0 -

oh interesting, i did check at pastebin.com, they use flash as well. so apparently you are right and this seems to be a sandboxing problem.
well, hope you add it to the low prio queue anyways.

Thanks for the confirmation, Frank.
It's in our list of things to look into, we do take every feature request into account, we just can't always promise that they'll be implemented.Flag 0
