Safari 5.1 and Snow Leopard: Trouble with bank login
Hi there,
still having problems with the extension in Safari 5.1 (running SL still).
What was GUI and handling problems in the beginning, is now getting really annoying.
- since 3.7 b10 (using b13 now, which did not change anything in that respect), it is really hard to unlock my online banking access. Going from Safari I open the page (1Password is not unlocked). I see the extension unlock screen for a split second, which disappears then. I unlock the extension, hit the data for that page, I see user and pass being filled and sent, but then nothing happens. The only way I found to get around this behavior is to unlock the 1Password application before triggering the extension the first time in Safari. Very annoying.
- 1Password extension does not find stored data for some pages, which it did before. For this forum site as well, for example. Very annoying having to copy the data for these sites from the 1P app by hand.
At least we could now open the app from within the extension. This helps a lot.... sigh

Hi Ralf
Reinstalling the extension should fix this. Extension Data Does Not Match the Main Application
Also please make sure you update 1Password. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Hi Ben,
I check for updates on a daily basis, to get rid of these problems. (sometimes automated checking did not work)
Currently I am running 1P Version 3.7.5 (build 31106) and extension 3.7 in Safari 5.1 on SL.
- this combination did in fact change the "not matching data". At least I couldn't find any problems till now.
- but it did not help for my online banking issue 100%. I am still getting the same behavior as described above from time to time (estimated 50% of my trials)

Could you please provide the URL for the site so we can take a look at it? Often saving a new Login can help as it allows 1Password to relearn everything about the page (if it has changed since you last saved the login which is very possible on the web). <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
Please try saving the login manually like this:
1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.
2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and select the "+" button in the upper right hand corner.
3. Change the title and make any notes (if desired).
4. Click the Save button in the upper right hand corner.

Hi =RS=
I have not been able to reproduce the issue with your bank. Here is what I did:
I unlocked 1Password > I went to the site > I filled in and saved some dummy credentials (using the method Khad posted above).
I quit Safari and made sure 1Password was locked.
I opened the page again, and hit Cmd+\
I typed in my Master Password and the dummy credentials were filled.
Could you please walk us through what you are doing and how it is different?
Unfortunately it appears at this point they have blocked me for having so many failed login attempts with the username "test." <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
Thanks

Hi Ben,
here it goes:
- I did exactly the same way as you described above. (or Khad did before)
- The difference here is: when opening the page again, the window to type in the master password opens immediately. Without having hit Cmd+# (that's for us Kraut-landers). After having entered the master password I hit Cmd+# (or select the data from the extension window)
- I see the data being filled in for a split second, then nothing happens
- closing Safari and reopening (without having locked 1PW) brings back normal behavior
cheers

Hallo =RS=!
I tested a login on the HVB site running 1P 3.8.1 and Safari extension 3.8.1.b1. I was able to save and successfully Fill and Submit the login credentials using the 1P icon (the UI). When I used the Amerikaner shortcut, Cmd-\, I experienced the same behavior you did using the Kraut-lander's shortcut, Cmd-#: The credentials Filled, but then disappeared.
In order to workaround this behavior, I edited my saved entry and changed the Submit value to "Never". When using Cmd-\, the credentials Filled and stayed there. However, I did have to manually click "Anmelden".
If you are still experiencing the issues you reported while running extension v3.7, please update to our latest beta extension and try my method. Hopefully, you will be able to use HVB without as much difficulty.
Danke!

You can find any of our extensions on the following website: 1Password Browser Extensions
If you wish to download the latest beta version, please check the Allow beta extensions checkbox to the right of the download links.

Hello =RS=,
Workarounds are the best we can offer until the website is analyzed and a fix is determined.
As I mentioned in my initial post, I was able to replicate the behavior you described with autosubmit enabled. There are some sites that do not play nice with the autosubmit feature, and HVB is one of them. When we find such a site, we add it to our list of URLs requiring further investigation. These sites must be analyzed one-by-one to determine the website's code that is causing the problem.
I'm sorry that you have to use the keyboard shortcuts for now, and I hope that the devs can find a fix for that particular site very soon.
Cheers!

Hi =RS=
As you've probably read elsewhere, Safari 5.1 and Firefox 6 are a whole different ball game from their predecessors. We had to re-create the extensions from scratch using all new APIs. As such, some things will work better, and other things not so much. We appreciate you taking the time to troubleshoot this with us, and it has been added to our list of URLs to test. I can't say when we might have a fix for this particular site, but its good to know that you can at least use 1Password with it, you just need to click the login button manually.

Hello Rod and welcome to the Forums!
From your description, I believe you are having a problem unlocking the the browser extension after clicking the 1P icon. Am I correct? If so, there may be a couple of different causes for the incorrect password issue.
1. Please check to see if Caps Lock in enabled.

I have experienced this issue myself, and I never thought of checking to see if it were enabled. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
2. Have you recently changed your Master Password in the 1Password application?

There is a known issue where changes to the Master Password do not sync to our browser extensions.

To resolve this, please remove the browser extension(s) that you are using, and then visit our Browser Extensions site and download/reinstall the extension.
If neither of those suggestions resolves your issue, and/or if I misunderstood your original issue, please reply back and let us know.
When replying please provide the following information:

Mac OS X

Browser(s)

1Password application version

1Password browser extension version(s)
Cheers!

At the moment we have some major issues with the Firefox extension that we're working to resolve, once that's done we can start working on the various sites that have problems with the new extension.Flag 0
