Where is the 1P toolbar icon on Safari?

I installed 1Password recently and wanted to start using it today. I wanted to start by changing a few passwords, just to see how 1P works. However, I don't see any 1P toolbar icon on Safari that would allow me to generate a new random password. I believe I used to have an icon of a key over a lock (the same icon I have on my dock), but I don't see that anymore. I have been able to generate new passwords by going to the 1P Vault, but I still don't get to the part where 1P asks me if I want to update to the new password.

I'm using 1P 3.7.5.BETA-3 and am running Safari 5.1 on Snow Leopard. I haven't updated to the extension yet.

    That's the problem. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> Safari 5.1 requires the extension. You can install it from 1Password > Preferences > Browsers.

I added the new extension, but I still don't see the toolbar icon, and I'm assuming the icon is the one with the key. The only thing I see is a button in the toolbar that says 1P. That gives me a windows with Logins on the top and four icons on the left. The icon one up from the bottom is the Password Generator. I can generate a password from there and then change one of my passwords, but there's no opportunity to update the new pw through 1P. As a result, the password is changed but 1P hasn't confirmed it so the passwords don't match and I can't log in. I used to have that key icon somewhere at the top of the screen, but it isn't there anymore.

To add the 1Password button to your toolbar, simply choose Customize Toolbar from the View menu and drag the button onto your toolbar.

Usually, the 1Password button is automatically added, but you can try the above method to see whether the 1Password button exists.

That's correct, dlamour3, that's the new interface for our new Safari extension which has been built from the ground up to support Safari 5.1 and we've created a guide to the new extension and it's features in our user guide.

This is something we're working on implementing, at the moment password are generated and filled but there's no dialog to automatically update your password in 1Password itself.

What does still happen though is that that 1Password saves all generated passwords in the 'Generated Password' section of 1Password itself, so you can find the password you've just generated, copy it and then edit the Login item within 1Password to paste in the new password.

We hope to have a better, more user friendly solution, to this soon.

This feature, the menu-bar icon, relied on our old method of integration with Safari. There are no APIs in the new Safari extensions framework to integrate with the Safari menu-bar and so this isn't something we can bring back.

I hope that helps clear things up,
