[FIXED] cmd-\ keyboard extension not working in Firefox 5
I tried to upgrade to Firefox 6 to deal with crashing issues I've been having. The extension wouldn't respond to Cmd-\ and when I used the mouse, it wouldn't fill in forms. I downgraded to Firefox 5 again. Everything is working now, except for Cmd-\.
I uninstalled all the 1Password plugins and then reinstalled the one from 1Password anew. (Version 3.7.5 (build 31106)) It still doesn't work.
This is a huge pain. What can I do to get my keyboard binding back?

We are aware of an issue affecting folks who use the latest beta of 1Password which adds support for Firefox 6. The issue is once the new Firefox 6 1Password extension is installed, it creates a file that notifies the 1PasswordAgent to act differently.
To resovle this issue, move this file to a different folder:
/Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/OnePassword.sqlite
Once this file is gone, go to 1Password and select the Help > Troubleshooting > Restart Agent menu, then restart Firefox.
This should resolve issues with keyboard shortcuts in Firefox 5.

I was able to recreate the issue on my machine after downgrading to Firefox 5.

I can't find any folder? No Firefox folder which is strange.

Are you looking in your home folder? The ~ is a shorthand for that; sorry for the confusion.
If you're using Finder on Lion, your Library folder is hidden by default now. To work around this, use the Go > Go to Folder menu and enter "~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles" into the prompt that appears.Flag 0 -
Having moved the file "~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/OnePassword.sqlite" and after restarting the 1Password Agent, my Firefox 5 keyboard shortcuts are functional again.
I'm running Version 3.7.5 (build 31106), and have not installed a version of Firefox 6 nor installed a different extensionFlag 0 -

Thanks dteare! Not sure I understood that but that worked! Will we have to do this every time there is an update for 1Password?Flag 0 -

As soon as I upgraded to 1P v3.7.5 I started seeing this problem. I'm running FF 5.0.1 and did not change FF version. Removing the sqlite file and restarting the agent corrected the problem.Flag 0 -

No. It should only be required when switching between the new 1Password extension beta and the current one.Flag 0 -
This worked for me as well, I've been trying to get CMD-/ to work for a couple of days. I moved the OnePassword.sqlite file, restarted the agent and bam! it works. I didn't even have to restart Firefox.
Btw, this is also with build 31106 and Firefox 5.0.1 and started with 1Password 3.7.5 early builds.Flag 0 -
Glad to hear this is working well for so many people.

This could be because at one time we had a bug that would create the database file automatically even if you didn't install the new extension. It was a temporary bug but looks like it caught quite a few people.Flag 0 -

THANK you very much! I too have never installed Firefox 6 but was losing my keyboard shortcuts and pulling my hair out trying to figure out why.
This should be a sticky.Flag 0 -

I suggest making this an FAQ -- I was having the same problem and it took me a LONG time to find this thread. Even better, maybe the next update should delete a zero-length Onepassword.sqlite file (I'm assuming a beta user would have a non-empty file).
Thanks.

+1. I upgraded only 1Password (been on OSX 10.6.8 and FF 5.0.1 for a long time) thru the auto-update mechanism with beta updates turned on. This should be stickied or somehow more prominent.Flag 0 -
Thanks for the feedback, folks! I'm glad things are working well now. We have only recently tracked this down, but i wouldn't be surprised to see it posted in some more prominent spots (or just resolved somehow).
If we can be further assistance, please let us know.
We are always here to help!Flag 0 -

Thanks Dave! Is it safe to just delete this file and re-start the agent?Flag 0 -
Hello Fruitbat,
I would hate to say "yes", and then find out later that you needed it. So, for the interim, please just "move" the file as Dave suggested.
At the pace Mozilla is coming out with FF releases, you won't need to keep the file on your computer for very long. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Cheers!
