Sidekick Plugin

Hi, Love your product. I also use Sidekick (formerly Network Location) and noticed that the 1Password plugin for Sidekick is not working. I'm assuming that all of your energy is focused on the 10.7 Lion release, however, any idea when the plugin will be fixed?

Thanks for making a great product,

Ryan

    Hi Spaceguy,

    Welcome to the forums!

I believe the developers of Sidekick (or possibly a 3rd party) actually maintain the plugin, not us. As such I don't have any sort of timeframe for you, but they might.

    Thanks

    Hey Ben

    The plugin was originally written by Jamie. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I'll send him a message and see what his thoughts are about sidekick.

True it's not an official plugin from 1P.
  • I didn't realize it wasn't an official '1Password' product. Thanks for the info!

It's true; I initially wrote the 1Password plugin for NetworkLocation. During the Sidekick beta cycle, Rick let plugin developers know that there were some updates needed due to the changes in the plugin architecture. He graciously offered to update the plugins for us if we sent the source code to him, which I did. All that being said, I don't know where that might have landed in Rick's massive stack of stuff. I'll ping him and see. It might be as simple as downloading a new version from the Sidekick website: http://oomphalot.com/sidekick/

From Rick, here are some things to check:

That the plugin is present in ~/Library/Application Support/Sidekick/Plugins

That Sidekick didn't throw up when trying to load the plugin (check Console)

That the plugin is in fact the skplugin and not nlplugin (can download skplugin from our site)

That 1Password is actually installed on their system in a way that the plugin will find it for them (you had made it invisible when 1P was undetected, as per our request)
If you still have trouble, Rick said you can contact them directly: http://oomphalot.com/support.html

Looks like I need to ping Rick

    1) yes

    2) nope no logs relating to an error, the only ones for me are the location logs

    3)true, skplugin

    4) not sure of this one.

edit : Email sent to Rick

    Once again Updating the thread:

I heard back from Rick today.

He thinks he has found the issue and will have a fix soonish. No time Frames were given, but if I know Rick (I have been talking to him on and off since I have been here at 1P) it will not be to long of a wait.
