LaCie Networkspace sign in doesn't work [Due to JavaScript & Frames/iFrames]

Hello

LaCie Networkspace hard disks use the browser to manage the HD's behavior. 1Password unfortunately does not succeed in managing the sign in: whether user nor password is filled in. Is there a solution?

Thanks!

    Hi taeb3,

Do they use HTTP basic authentication? If you aren't sure, you can take a screenshot to show us.

In Safari 5.1 there is no API to interface with HTTP basic authentication prompts, and as such we aren't able to support them at this time.

    Thanks

  • Hi Ben

Thanks for the fast answer. HTTP basic authentication ??? It looks like this: [attachment=1102:Bildschirmfoto 2011-08-12 um 17.24.21.png].

    I use Firefox.

    Thanks

Ok, thanks for the screenshot Alex. This is not HTTP basic authentication so it must be a different issue (especially as you use Firefox!) <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Please try saving the login manually like this:

    1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and choose Save Login.

    3. Set the Action field to Create New Login (or to Replace <login-name>, to update an existing Login item).

    4. Click the Save button.

Thanks: Itried what you suggested: Funny is, that 1PW doesn't store wether username nor password, when I create a new login, but it stores a checkbox.

    Do you understand that?

  • It looks like the login form is being loaded in via an iFrame, so in the screenshot you provided there isn't actually any code for the login form.

I know iFrames can cause some issues for the new extension, but we may be able to still get things working. If you right-click within one of the fields for the login and select 'Inspect Element' can you take a screenshot of the code you see?
  • Hi

Back again from a biketour: great!

Yes, they use iFrame. That's the screenshot:[attachment=1147:Bildschirmfoto 2011-08-19 um 21.26.14.png]

    Does that help?

    Greetings

Thanks Alex. It looks like they are doing some pretty crazy stuff to generate a relatively simple page (crazy stuff with JavaScript and frames/iframes). Unfortunately I'm not sure we'll be able to work around that. I know it isn't as convenient, but you can copy and paste your password from either the 1Password extension in Safari or the main 1Password application for that one site. We'll look and see if there is anything we can do to improve this on our end, but really it'd just be a lot better if they could simplify their code a bit. They are really doing a lot more than they have to.
  • Thanks Ben, I will do it manually. It's not the only thing that is a bit difficult with their programming. Maybe it will be better n the future.
