Several issues in new Safari 5.1 extension [Should be resolved in latest version]

I've been using 1password for years, probably since it was available for apple computers and I loved everything about it, recommended to all my friends that is until now... I've been having so many issues since I upgraded to Lion I wonder if I'll continue to use 1password anymore. some of my issues are:
1.- I hate the new extension with a passion. I loved when I just use the shortcut control+ back slash and my password will just go into those little boxes and everything just work like it should.
the new extension is supposed to give you more options more access to your info for me it's just one more step that I need to take in order to use my password. don't see the advantage.
2.- I use dropbox to save the 1password database, and just the other day I tried to use 1password and it show that I didn't have any passwords, I was shocked and thought that i lost all my passwords and then after spending about an hour figuring out what happened I came a cross the "rebuild database" which brought back all my password but I've never had to do that before this new version, waste of time, aggravation, frustration etc etc.
3.- I created a password with the "generate a password" feature on my laptop then a couple days later i was using my desktop mac and I went into 1password to look for that generated password it didn't show up, so I couldn't use or access the webpage I was looking for because the database for some reason it isn't updating the database like before.
4.- today I tried to use 1password after I reset safari and i got a message that says "unknown error"
please restart your browser THIS WAS THE LAST STRAW.... SO NOW I CAN'T EVEN USE THE FLIPPING EXTENSION.
COME ON PEOPLE, IS THIS SUPPOSED TO BE A BETTER VERSION OF 1PASSWORD?

I feel your pain... I wrote an email a few weeks ago that sounded almost exactly like yours....
The good news is that all of the good old features are back now and improved.
I have had some weird feelings about the Dropbox issue... it seems that each time you start your mac, 1PW looks to dropbox to see if there is an update from db... also it looks like there is some activity when you shut down... might be a little slower than the past based only on the Growl notifications, not any real knowledge of the inner workings, but I have not lost anything and I'm probably worried about nothing.
My advice... go back and read the pinned notes in the extension forum... and be sure you are setup to download all the latest beta versions..that's where all the single stroke pw stuff came back.
I think if you do that, you will like 1PW more than ever. (I'm writing this as a penance for sounding off so loudly from your position <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
good luck

Thanks for the assist Tom!
cesarhidalgo,
First, welcome to the forums! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Second, as Tom mentioned, it sounds like you may not have the latest versions of everything: 1Password 3.7.5 and Safari extension 3.7 (as of writing) are the latest. Please try updating and I bet you'll see many of those issues go away.
With Lion, and particularly Safari 5.1, Apple changed the way Safari extensions work. We are no longer able to do things the way we used to. We were forced to built a brand new extension from the ground up. I think our developers have done a spectacular job of this, especially considering the time constraints, and I think you'll find that the latest version is as good as or better than the previous extension.
Thanks
