Safari 5.1 UI: Saving Logins & Using Radio Buttons

robactor
robactor Junior Member
Cannot save any logins. The + doesn't do anything. (It did a couple of days ago.) And there is no autosave.

Also, when it used to save, radio buttons were not saved. That means a re-entry every time when these are needed.

  • Is this happening on every site you visit or just some?

Also, can you make sure you have 1Password 3.7.5 and Safari extension 3.7 installed?

    Happens on all sites.

    3.8.0.BETA-1 (build 31107)

    Extension 3.7

    I'm getting frustrated.

The only logins that work are the ones from several days ago. Now I cannot save any; the + sign just doesn't work, although it did back then (after the upgrade to Lion). I can add logins by using NEW in 1P, but they don't function.

Will this be fixed, or am I stuck?

I used to be able to save radio buttons and selection boxes. No more. Will this be taken care of?

    Hi robactor,

Lets please keep this contained to one thread. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

The issue with radio buttons is known and we hope to have that fixed. To clarify, the "+" button is broken on every site? I'm not able to reproduce that, it works fine on my machine. Are you using any other Safari extensions?

    Thanks

    I may be misleading you.

To change the login for an existing site, I delete the login.

Then I open the site, fill the form with identity, then hit the +.

I enter the login name I want to use. and in some cases enter the URL, and hit save.

This shows in the login list, but does not fill the form when I try to use it.

Also the fields do not show when I look in the login list.

    Hope I'm making sense.

    Thanks.
  • Rob,

Are we talking about actual usernames or passwords or something different?

Not sure I follow. This is for filling in forms with name, address, phone, passwords, etc. Usually used for entering sweeps. This is what I've been doing since I started using 1P.
  • Hello robactor,

I realize this must be frustrating. Let's see if we can dial down into your issue.

From your last post, I presume you are trying to Fill personal information on a webpage when entering sweeps or similar sites. If that is the case, you are likely using a saved entry in the Identities vault. The procedures you described in earlier posts appeared related to saving a Logins vault entry.

Presuming that you use specific sites to enter sweeps, you would need to use two different vaults: a saved Logins vault entry for logging on the site and an Identities vault entry to Fill out the subsequent entry forms with your name, address, phone, etc.

Please let us know if we are getting closer to understanding your issue. If we're not, please provide a URL for a site on which you are experiencing difficulty. I'm confident that we will figure out the issue.

    Cheers!

Reading the initial posts, I believe I am having a similar issue where in cases that I need 1PW to manually save a login, I click the 1P button in Safari (5.1) on Lion 10.7.1 running 1PW 3.8.0 and then click the + sign to save a new login but NOTHING happens. Is this a known bug? This is not the case on all sites.

This is the same problem I'm having. I use identities to do the initial fill-in, then I save it to logins. This used to work fine before the new versions. Now it will save, but will not fill in the forms from the logins. Ones that were in there before the upgrades still work, but new additions don't.

skiaddict's problem is actually a bit different. For him, the "+" button does not work AT ALL. For you, it works, it just doesn't do what you want it to do.

We're aware of the fact that the new extensions only save username and password related fields, they do not save other unrelated fields to the logins vault.

Are you planning to have the logins save other data besides name and password? This used to work just fine.

If not, what's the alternative. This is my only real use for 1P.

I also have a snow leopard machine that does not do anything when you click on the "+" button. What is the work around for this?
  • tgl3

It happens on all websites, the button does not do anything.
  • This happens to me also. Here is the url https://myaccount.xcelenergy.com/index.jsp#. I can't auto save or fill. I have the current safari & 1password as of today.
  • Hello oldguy and welcome to the Forums!

The Xcel Energy website uses Adobe Flash on it's login page. At this time, 1Password does not support Flash sites. To my knowledge, no other application is able to integrate with Flash either.

We will continue to investigate ways to workaround Flash sites, but I do not have any indication that we will be able to find a workaround in the near future.

I'm sorry that I do not have a better answer for you at this time.

    Cheers!

Fortunately no, most do not. Many of the ones that do by default also offer an alternative HTML (standards based) page that 1Password is able to work with.
