Desktop Icon No Longer Retained

After installing one of the recent Know updates ( or possibly the Mac OS X 10.6.8 update ), when I open a Knox Vault the icon on the desktop shows up on the desktop as a generic disk. In an attempt to remedy this, I copied an icon and pasted it into the "Get Info" window. that changes the icon appropriately; however, if I close ( eject ) the vault and re-open it then the icon goes back to the generic disk icon. While this is NOT a major problem, I would like to know if others are seeing this behavior and if so if they have determined a solution. I prefer to use the old "Suitcase" icon which is no longer holding. Hardware is: an iMac Quad i7, an ancient MacBook Pro, and a MacBook Air all running Mac OS X 10.6.8 fully patched. Same behavior on all three systems. I have not / cannot determine if this is an Apple problem or a Knox problem.

    Hi whrahe,

That's normal. We had to remove the custom icon as it was causing an issue with Knox on Lion and for some users on 10.6.8, removing it was a temporary fix for it. We do plan to bring the custom icon back in a future update to Knox but I do not have a timeframe. I apologize for the inconvenience.
  • Thank you for your prompt response. I can certainly live indefinitely with the temporary fix. A great product and I plan to keep using it.
