1Password 2 icon missing in Safari after upgrading to 5.1

I upgraded my Mac OS to Snow leopard 10.6 and my 1Password icon in Safari 5.1 disappeared from my browser. I've tried all the suggestions from this forum to fix the issue, but to no avail.

I have 1Password version 2.12.1, which is the most current version for 1Password 2. I also checked updates for Safari and I'm running the latest version which is 5.1.

I have checked the Open in 32-bit mode checkbox in the Safari application; I have uninstalled the Safari browser extension in 1Password preferences; I have Removed Input Manager and Reinstalled Input Manager; I tried the shortcut command Cmd-\ to restore login information, but nothing happens. When I go to Safari to Customize Toolbar, it doesn't appear in the list of icons. Nothing has worked.

Please advise.

  • 1Password 2 does not, and has never, supported Safari 5.x. You'll need to upgrade to 1Password 3 for Safari 5 support.

If your current license key begins 1PW3 then you already have a valid 1Password 3 license and as such you just need to download the latest version of 1Password 3 from http://agilebits.com/downloads and then follow our installation guide, which contains some important information about upgrading from 1Password 2:

    http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/3_0_how_to_install.html

Please make sure you read the section about upgrading to the Agile Keychain data format, if you haven't already done this you must do this before upgrading to 1Password 3. Once you have 1Password 3 installed you can install the Safari extension by following our steps here:

    http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/safari_5.1_install_update.html

If, on the other hand your license key begins with 1PW2 you'll need to upgrade your license to a 1Password 3 license for just $27.99 through our online store here:

    https://agilebits.com/store/upgrade

    I hope that helps,
