1P won't appear in firefox 5.0

I just downloaded 1password for my imac which snow leopard 10.6.8. I confirmed that there are no updates for 1password.

I cannot get the 1P button on my firefox toolbar. i run firefox 5.0.1.

i followed the instructions i copied below. there is only one box for firefox in the 1password browser box. the firefox tools/addons/extensions says that the 1password extension for firefox 4.o is not compatible w/firefox 5.0.--but there is only one choice for firefox in 1password.

what shld i do?

Firefox advises updating to firefox 6.0. Shld i do that?

Often Firefox will cache some data from a previous version, causing the 1Password extension to not load. You can fix this by completely uninstalling the Firefox extension and reinstalling it:

1. Make sure Firefox is not running.

2. Launch 1Password from your /Applications folder

3. Click 1Password > Preferences > Browsers

4. Uncheck the box next to all versions of Firefox

5. Launch Firefox and click Tools > Add-ons > Extensions. Make sure that 1Password is not listed.

6. Step #5 is the most important step so we’re repeating it again here <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Launch Firefox and make sure 1Password is not there.

7. If 1Password is appearing in the Extensions window, click the Uninstall button on the 1Password extension and quit Firefox.

8. Return to your 1Password window and check the box next to Firefox. If there are two versions, THERE IS ONLY ONE VERSION pick the one that you have

9. installed and deselect the other one.

10. Restart Firefox and click Tools > Add-ons > Extensions. Make sure that 1Password is listed.

Welcome to the forums! Sorry for the delayed reply.

You may have better luck with Firefox 6. Please give it a try, but check out this post before you do: 1Password 3.8 for Mac is out with support for Firefox 6/7 and a new extension setup process
