Using 1Password on Snow Leopard and an iPad 2

I have a mac with snow Leopard and do not know how to use the current version of 1P. The entire new 1P is foreign. I do not know how to add a new item for login or even how to save a new site .

Now I also have Ipad2 with Pro and it is more foreign for use. I have to get out of every site, go to 1P find the login and try to make it login. This is terrible and I have been a very long term user and the new is stumping me.

  • I'm sorry for the trouble here, it sounds like you've updated to Safari 5.1 on the Mac and as such are using our brand new extension. It is a complete redesign of the 1Password interface as well as a complete rewrite of the underlying code which was required to support Safari 5.1

Please take a look at our introduction to the new extension as well as our new '3 Minute Expert' guide that should help you get up and running, saving logins and filling them are both very much possible with the extension.

With regards to 1Password on the iPad, I'm sorry for any confusion here but the 1Password app for iOS can't be integrated with Mobile Safari or other mobile browsers in the same way as 1Password is integrated with web browsers on the Mac. This is because at this time, the mobile browsers are not extensible with plug-ins to do what 1Password needs, of course if this ever changes we'll look into the options available to us.

For this reason, we've included a Safari-like browser within 1Password that you can use to fill your details on web sites. You can learn more about logging into sites with 1Password by looking at this guide to using the built in browser.

We do plan to improve this built-in browser, the idea being that while you can't use Safari on the iPad with 1Password you will be able to have a much better experience with the browser built-in to 1Password.

    I hope that helps,
