Browser Integration

1Password offers something that no other software of this type can: direct web browser integration. You can configure which browsers 1Password should integrate with, as well where 1Password buttons appear in each browser. To see these browser preferences, click 1Password > Preferences, then click the Browsers pane. Below are explanations for the features and options found in this pane.

  • With 1Password 3.8 we've greatly simplified the options available, we now support Safari 5.1, Firefox 6+ and Google Chrome, all of which can be installed using the 'Install Extensions' link.

Which browser are you trying to install an extension for and are you on Lion or Snow Leopard?

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem, with Firefox 6, 1Password 3.8.2, running on Lion. When I go to the browser tab in 1Password's preferences, it doesn't offer me any options, just the button to install extensions. I have actually installed all the available extensions, and it still doesn't seem to know that they're installed, and I can't configure them through 1Password preferences.
  • The way the new extensions work mean that they're configured directly within the browsers and 1Password itself can't determine if they're installed.

In the case of Firefox 6 you can go to Tools > Add-ons and you should see 1Password listed there, can you tell me if that's the case?
