Can't save login with Firefox or Safari [Resolved by Manually Saving Login]

1Password 3.8.1 beta does not offer to save a login ID at https://www.vccuonli...et/en/Home.aspx with either Safari 5.1 or Firefox 6.0. It may be that in the past I saved manually, but I can't find this feature in 1Password 3.8.1 beta. How do I save a login at this page? I had used this page for many months, maybe a year, with previous versions of 1Password.

    Hi there Allan,

The manual save function isn't working yet in Firefox 6, but in Safari...

Please try saving the login manually like this:

    1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and select the "+" button in the upper right hand corner.

    3. Change the title and make any notes (if desired).

    4. Click the Save button in the upper right hand corner.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you. After doing this, the web page complained that I couldn't use blanks in an ID. Checking the login within the 1Password application itself, the ID had filled in below the All Fields with the username but not in the actual Username field at the top of the white area. I filled this in and now have the username shown above the All Fields notation and twice below it. This now fills in the webpage ID in Safari, but not in Firefox.

Passwords for this institution are entered on a separate webpage. Your program did save this password properly by the manual method you outlined and now does enter it properly in Safari.
  • Hello Allan,

Thanks for updating the thread with your results! I'm glad Ben's advice was the fix you needed.

    Cheers!
