1Password - Autosave login uses wrong website button?

When 1Password Autosaves my login for the following website, it is using the wrong button for login?

Once 1P saved the login, I tested to find that the 'Username' and 'Password' fields are populated correctly, however the <Login> button is not the button being "virtually clicked"? The <Continue> button in the "PayBill" UI on the page is being "virtually clicked" and I'm being taken to that page instead of being logged in??

How do I 'make' 1Password or 'edit' the "button" 1Password thinks to use for login submission on a site? Cause this pages login only works if I turn Auto-submit off and manually click <Login> myself after the Username/Password fields are populated.

Cheers in advance,

    Hi Life's Good (I agree!),

    Welcome to the forums. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I just tested this login in Safari 5.1 with 1Password 3.8.1 and it seemed to "click" the correct button for me. Of course I can't say for sure because I don't have a valid account to test with, but it took me to a page I would have expected.

Please try saving the login manually like this:

    1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and select the "+" button in the upper right hand corner.

    3. Change the title and make any notes (if desired).

    4. Click the Save button in the upper right hand corner.

If that works, you can delete the old (non-functional) login.

Please do make sure you are on the latest versions of everything.

    Thanks!

  • Ben,

Cheers, for quick reply. I have the latest version of 1Password as updated earlier this evening.

I did as you suggested however the '+' symbol does nothing in the new 1P Dropdown. There is a "Telstra MyAccount" listed as "Logins for this page", being the non functioning one, however mouse pointer merely highlights the '+' button a lighter shade of grey... <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' /> Clicking it does nothing.

    Look forward to hearing.....

    Hi Paul,

I didn't see where you mention which web browser you are using?

    Please let me know,

    Ben
  • Sorry, Safari Version 5.1 (6534.50)

Interesting. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Can you please make sure the extension is also up to date? Safari > Preferences > Extensions > 1Password

Please let me know what version it shows. We've seen some cases where the extension doesn't get updated even though the main app did, or vice versa.
  • Ben,

    Safari > Preferences > Extensions > 1Password = 1Password 3.7

    Main App > 1Password > About 1Password = Version 3.8.1 (build 31115)

    Cheers, Paul
  • Ben,

Did a re-install of the extension again and the '+' seems to now work. Did as discussed earlier above, however unless i missed something, 1Password still clicks the <Continue> button instead of <Login> once it populates Username n Password fields??

Look forward to reply when you get a chance. 2am, my bed's calling.

    Hi Paul,

Sorry for the delayed reply. I don't mean to make you run around in circles, but it seems to be working for me. As I mentioned I can't test fully as we don't have an account there, but 1Password 3.8.1 w/ Safari extension 3.7 seems to work correctly on this site for me. Can you please make sure that you are filling the form with the new login, the one that was just saved, rather than an older one?

If the wrong button is indeed still clicked, I can let our developers know, but to be honest I'm not sure what they will be able to do about it. Both "continue" and "login" sound like valid options after filling a form. Sometimes it seems though that they can work magic, so maybe they can figure something out. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Otherwise your best bet is going to be to change the auto submit option for that particular login to "never" and click the "login" button yourself once the form fields are populates.

    Thanks

    Ben
