console error messsages

I'm seeing lots and lots of the below messages in my Lion 10.7.1 system.log (about one batch every 1-3 minutes). This has been going on since installing 3.8 and continues with 3.8.1. I'm using Firefox 6. There are no outward symptoms other than the console messages, but this is an excessive amount of logging if it is normal and expected. If it's not normal and expected, it should be addressed. I am not seeing these messages on my other system running 1P 3.7.1 and FF 5.0.1

    Hi wolfypdx,

    Welcome to the forums! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

These are fairly normal and expected. Are you having any trouble with 1Password or were you just curious about the logging?

    Thanks

    Ben
  • I would like to know, why these error's are logged there?

The extension is brand new and so we left a lot of logging turned on in order to help us debug any issues that come up. If you aren't having any issues then it's nothing to worry about.

Hi - I was expecting to be notified by email of any replies, but never got any. Probably got spamcanned.

Anyway, yeah, I was mostly curious about the messages. As a sysadmin, I pay attention to my logs, and like to know what's normal and what indicates a potential problem. It *is* quite a bit of detail for something that is primarily only there for debugging purposes, but so long as I know I can ignore it, that's okay. Thanks for the answer.
  • Hello wolfypdx,

I understand how a sysadmin would be concerned with unknown log entries, and I empathize with your earlier concerns.

However, we do tweak our debugging logging frequently, and I've passed along a link to this tread to our developers to see if there are any ways to decrease the chatter.

Thanks for posting your comments. It does help us prioritize.

    Cheers!
