1P in lion asking to save PWs that are *already* saved

i've been using 1P for a couple of years and have quite a few entries. since upgrading to lion and installing the related betas (currently 3.8 b1, but i'm installing a newer beta now), 1P repeatedly asks if i want to save the PWs for sites that i visit regularly -- that is, sites whose PWs have been in my 1P database for ages. (i'm running safari 5.1.)

is there a fix for this?

    Hi soundsgoodtome,

We have made a lot of improvements to this over the past couple weeks but it sounds like we may still have some work to do. What I would suggest is that if these login items were created a long time ago, please try manually saving them:

    1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and select the "+" button in the upper right hand corner.

    3. Change the title and make any notes (if desired).

    4. Click the Save button in the upper right hand corner.

Once you've saved a fresh login, test it, and assuming it works: delete the old one.

In many cases this helps. If there are still some sites that you have prompting you to save, and you've already followed the steps above for them, please let me know the URLs so that we can test them.

    Thanks

thanks for the reply. I'll try that. sorry for the delayed acknowledgement; I've just noticed that we're not notified of replies in this forum by default. I've changed my settings.

and speaking of notifications, we truly appreciate your frequent updates. but because of the brilliant way in which 1P works (w/browser integration), I rarely launch the app! when I do, I often see I've missed 4 or 5 iterations. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' /> is there any way, besides actually launching the app, to be informed of updates? (I apologize if I should have started a new thread with this question.)

    Hey there,

Sorry for the delayed reply. At this point, there is no way to get updates to the application without launching it, unfortunately. Something we'll have to look into for the future. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

it seems you misunderstood me. I didn't ask "to receive updates to the application without launching it." I asked about being *notified* that an update exists. for example, is there a forum thread in which you regularly announce updates? if so, I could subscribe to that post via email.

Ah, sorry for the misunderstanding. We post all version updates here, however I'm not aware of a way to get an email when there is an update:

well, i tried these instructions, but i hit a roadblock at step 2: after i click the "+" button, nothing happens. based upon your description of step 3, i expected some sort of form where i'd "change the title and make any notes." although the "+" button highlights when i mouse over it, after clicking it, the window just sits there.
  • soundsgoodtome,

We've seen some issues with certain sites just not working with the manual save options in the new extension, and we'll try to fix these as we can. Do you have a link to the site in question?

Also, can you make sure you have the latest 3.8.3 version of 1Password and 3.8.2 version of the Safari extension.

yes, i'm happy to provide you with a link. however, for privacy reasons, i'll (attempt to) send you the link via a private forum message.

    thanks.

If you haven't already heard back from Stu, you could also shoot me a PM with the URL. We are not all always working in the same area (forums, email, etc.). In fact, you could even email it to us where whoever is available can reply the fastest. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
