Saving a login/form with more than just username/password

My bank uses 3 fields to log in: Username, PIN, Password. Is there a way to autosave the info in all 3 fields? All 3 fields must be completed to log in. I can't seem to make this one work. All other sites I visit will complete the login sequence OK, if there is just the Username and Password fields. I just got this software, so bear with me.. Love it so far, though! I'm using Safari 5.0.3.

Thanks for you help.

  • Hi BigMike,

I'm sorry for the trouble here, 1Password should be able to handle logins that use more than the normal 2 login fields, however you may need to save the login manually rather than letting auto-save handle this. To save a login manually please do the following:

    1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and choose Save Login.

    3. Set the Action field to Create New Login (or to Replace <login-name>, to update an existing Login item).

    4. Click the Save button.

That should get you a working 1Password Login item that fills all 3 fields on your bank's site. If it doesn't please give me a link to the site and we'll see what we can do for you.

    Thanks,

Hi, thanks but I'm missing something here. These instructions don't make any sense to me.

Here's the site I'd like to set up in 1password: https://ac.mediatemple.net/login.mt

How do set this up? I'm comfortable setting it up manually, I just don't know how to get 1P to fill in three fields. I can only get two fields to work.

    Hey h-dog,

Sorry for the confusion. You posted in a thread from nearly four months ago. Much has changed since Lion and Safari 5.1 were released.

If you are using Safari 5.1, you can visit that page in Safari, fill in the three fields, but DO NOT submit the form. Click the 1P toolbar button and then click the + sign in the upper right corner of the 1Password popover. You will be given an opportunity to edit the title or add a note if you wish. Click save when you are satisfied with the title and note.

  • Hi

Your instructions don't answer the question - like your screenshot shows, it only saves username and password, wherease the login form also requires the account domain name (which is NOT the same as the url of the login form. This is common to many domain registrar sites (see register4less.com for another example). I tried editing my login in 1password and adding the extra field manually, but it did not work (1Password fills both "domain name" and "username" fields with the username value, and ignores the domain name field I created.

Yep I agree those instructions do not make sense. I just upgraded to the latest version of Firefox and 1Password and it stopped the main website I use with 1Password working at all. The website is https://live.sagepay...y/loginpage.msp

    and requires a

    Vendor Name

    Username

    Password

I could not get this to work at all with the new version and have not reverted back to 3.7.2 and Firefox 5.0.1 where it works perfectly. Also in the new version I could not see the 1Password Bar and it would NOT auto-save logins......help! I want to use the latest version but am stuck here!

How do you get 1Pasword to accept the additional field of Vendor Name......the old version was so easy and intuitive!
  • I am looking for help on how I can set up a 1password go and fill template for a website like Wells Fargo CEO where you are required to enter a Company ID, User Name and Passcode. If I add another field, it copies the user id in both the company and user id location. Can I enter a tab or special character between the two IDs to load them into the correct spots? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the feedback folks. You are of course correct that the new extensions are currently only able to save the username and password fields. We are working on a fix for this.

I merged two similar threads here. Please see my response above. Thanks.
  • Ben,

Was there a fix for this for iPhone application (1Password Pro)?

Thnx and keep up the good work.

    Welcome to the forums, ihuter.

This thread is in the Mac forum, so it is unrelated to any issue in iOS. If you are having trouble with a specific site in the iOS app, could you please create a new thread in the iOS forum with details?
