Black bar descends from above asking if I want to preserve this password

I go to a page--most any page--that requires a login. Safari logs me in automatically.

However, a 1Password bar, black, descend from the top of the page. It asks me if I want to save this password. I say yes by (once again) logging in in the empty space provided on the right-hand side of the black bar.

The bar disappears and then bounces back asking another question, I forget exactly; I fill in the correct answer again and the bar disappears only to reappear repeating the question. This goes on. Eventually I tell it to go away with "x".

Why is this? What is this?

Thanks,

Alarik

    Hi Alarik,

This is due to an incompatibility between the Safari autofill and 1Password. We recommend disabling autofill in any browser that you use 1Password in. In Safari this can be done from Safari > Preferences > Autofill > uncheck the three available boxes

    Hope that helps.

  • I had no idea about that incompatibility. Was it ever mentioned, with earlier versions? With previous versions of 1Password I did not experience this incompatibility.

    Ben, thank you.

I'll try this at some point in the future.

    Hi Alarik,

It has been mentioned in previous versions but most people ignore the warning unless they have troubles, such as in this case.

    You're very welcome. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
