Creepy on-page prompt in iGoogle under Safari

I'm using Safari 5 under lion with the 1password extension for the first time and I just typed my 1password key in a location I didn't expect to: in the black title bar of iGoogle, after I manually entered a password for my google account, instead of the normal black iGoogle bar I had a message about unlocking 1password to store the password.

I already had that password stored but I decided to enter my 1password key anyway to make the message go away. Scanning this site, I haven't found any information about a feature that blends into the igoogle toolbar so I wanted to make sure that this wasn't some kind of spoof trick to grab my 1password key.

  • OK I just realized that it's a coincidence that the 1password bar looks just like the igoogle bar when it showed the same thing on a different website. Now I can't figure out how to delete my post above.
  • Don't worry, Gilliss, you asked a good question. For anyone else reading this, if you see a black bar appear at the top of your web page after entering your login details, if they're not already saved in 1Password, then this is the auto-save bar as we detail in the guide to our new extension and is perfectly normal to see.

If you see this prompt when you know you have a login already saved for that site, please make sure you have our latest updates to both 1Password and the extension itself and then go to Help > Troubleshooting > Restart Agent from within 1Password. You may also need to disable Safari's AutoFill options from Safari > Preferences > AutoFill, though we are working to stop this from happening.

    I hope that helps,
