Browser extensions

Hi AEW,
The browser extensions are what make 1Password "plug in" to each web browser (Safari, Firefox, and Chrome). In my opinion this is one of 1Password's best features. They aren't required, per se, but they add a lot of functionality (such as being able to fill your logins in directly in the browser, without having to copy and paste).
So, yes, I'd recommend installing them in any web browser you are using.

Hello AEW,
On behalf of Ben, you are very welcome!
You mentioned that you are running Snow Leopard. Are you running Safari 5.0 or Safari 5.1?
If you are running Safari 5.0, you will need to enable the browser extension via 1Password > Preferences on the Browsers tab by checking the box next to Safari. Please review one of of previous help guides for additional details: 1P 3 Browser Integration
If you are using Safari 5.1, you can determine the 1P extension version by going to Safari > Extensions and then clicking on the 1Password extension in the column on the left. You can find additional details on installing/updating 1P's Safari 5.1 extension here: How to install and update the browser extensions.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Cheers!
