Safari 5.1 (Snow Leopard)

When I press the toolbar button and enter the Master Password, about haf the time 1Password works as expected, while the other half it delivers a message (in red) "Problem with Database" and suggests that I disable/re-enable the 1Password extension. This I do at least daily.

Whether the 1Password program is open or closed does not affect the toolbar launch problem. The problem has persisted for weeks.

    Hi Tomas,

Sorry to hear about this difficulty with the Safari extension. Could you please check for me and see which version of 1Password and the Safari extension you have? 1Password should be at least 3.8.1, and the Safari extension should be at least 3.7. If they are, please try restarting the 1PasswordAgent. This can be accomplished through 1Password > Help > Troubleshooting > Restart Agent.

Please let us know how it turns out.

  • Thank you, Ben. I had the latest versions of both Safari and 1Password, so I un- and re-installed it again, carefully verifying the "Pop-Up Blocker" and "Private Browsing" were disabled. I clicked through the1Password > Help > Troubleshooting > Restart Agent sequence but nothing sensible occurred. Perhaps something magical or metaphysical occurs behind the scenes. Anyway, 1Password works again today, but I'll need a few more days of smooth operation to conclude that all is well.

    Best wishes,

    Tomas
  • Hello Tomas,

On behalf of Ben, you are very welcome!

I'm glad that things are working for you again. Sometimes, things just start working magically. When they do, I just thank the computer Gods and smile. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

    Cheers!
