Can't import Firefox 6.0 passwords

I have the latest 1Password (3.8.1 I think).

I tried to import my Firefox passwords and it just sits their with the spinning icon. How long is it supposed to take? I turned off the master password and restarted Firefox to see if that helped but no luck.

Running OS X 10.7.1, Firefox 6.0 and 1Password 3.8.1 running under the 30-day trial.

Any help appreciated.

  • I'm not running as an admin user. I have a separate user for that. Would that make a difference?
  • I am also having issues importing from Firefox 6. It just spins and spins. I've waiting 10 - 15 minutes and nothing happens.
  • I've updated to 3.8.2 and updated the Firefox plugin and rebooted. Still no progress.

    Any help appreciated.
  • In the end I used the Password Exporter add-on to export to CSV and then imported this file into 1Password. I can at least get started now..

Thanks for posting the work around mekondelta.
  • Well, I might be retarded but I used the firefox exporter extension. After I export the file into what was supposed to be cvs format, it looks like what it is below and apparently 1password could not cipher it as it just came up with 175 logins that didnt have any info in each login. Am I doing something wrong or missing something?...(i obv obstucated the u/n and pws for posting purposes)

  • OK, I might be mildly retarded. I didnt customize the import when I imported it into 1password. I didnt see the heading dropdowns, and I didnt check mark quotations. It would be nice if 1password could find the images for users in a similar way that firefox address bar shows images of each website you visit. Firefox shows a logo for the website in the address bar. 1password should be able to detect these images and use them in the titles.
