Two Questions: Sycning And Encryption

Hi,

I have purchased 1Password Pro for my iPhone and I was thinking about getting 1Password for my laptop, which is running Windows XP. I was just wondering if I could sync all my passwords without using Dropbox - for some reason I would rather use the WiFi sync instead of Dropbox - after I setup the Windows version of 1Password. I know that the downside to this is that changes will not be synced via the cloud, but I don't mind. I will also be purchasing a Mac in the following months, and was wondering if I could use the WiFi sync to keep everything in sync between my iPhone, PC, and Mac, when I purchase it.

Lastly, I was wondering if I do decide to use the Dropbox sync method, is there any need for me to use added encryption, such as TrueCrypt? Or would that cause a conflict?

Thank you in advance.

    Welcome to the forum, ycity!

Dropbox is the only sync option available in 1Password for Windows.

As for security, the thing to remember is that your 1Password data is protected with 128-bit AES encryption:

Please see these documents for a more thorough discussion of the issue:

What's more, Dropbox protects the data stored on their servers with 256-bit AES encryption (https://www.dropbox.com/help/27), so your data should be particularly safe there. Dropbox also uses SSL for all transfers to and from your Dropbox-sync'ed devices, so they're at least as secure as Wi-Fi transfers between devices would be.
