forgot iPhone unlock code - but use multiple devices with dropbox sync

I was a total goof for setting a 1Password unlock code on my iPhone and forgetting it. I also use 1Password on my iPad2, macbook and windows box all doing dropbox sync. I'd like to reset the iPhone app so I can set a new unlock code on the iPhone but am worried about the dropbox sync deleting my password data and screwing up the rest of my devices. Is there a recommended approach to recovering from this situation?

    The easiest way to accomplish what you are describing is to delete the 1Password app and just start over from scratch. Since it will not be sync'ing with Dropbox initially, your data will not be removed in the sync. And as a safety net, you can always restore from a backup in 1Password on one of your computers as well.



    Just tap and hold the 1Password icon on your iPhone until it "jiggles", tap the "x" to remove it, and then launch the App Store and redownload it from Updates > Purchased to make sure you get the same version and are not charged again (hint: pull the screen down to reveal the search field at the top!)



    Once it is reinstalled, simply set up Dropbox sync again (Settings > Sync > Dropbox ON), and your data will be sync'd back into 1Password on your iPhone.
