Using 1Password across multiple windows of the same browser
Hullo,
I just came across what I deem a problem. Or at least worthy of becoming a feature.
I'm running the current version of 1Password (3.6.3.) on an iMac (10 . 6 . 3 and use Firefox (6.0.1) pretty much exclusively. But once I had two windows of the same browser open 1Password stopped working as advertised. I can still access the data - logins and such - via the actual program and the browser plugin but the auto-fill does not work. So no two-click-login for me <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />
I don't know if this is relevant, but prior to today this problem didn't occur to me simply because I used the 2nd window for auxiliary purposes while the first remained the main window with logins and stuff. Nevertheless I did use multiple windows on occasion.
Furthermore I can't easily login using either window, now, unless I close the other window.
Sincerely,
Roomba
PS: Entirely unrelated, but since you probably employ real cryptography experts and I suppose you actually discussed this approach, what do you think of http://www.xkcd.com/936/ ? Would those more easily remembered passwords be harder to crack?
PPS: Smileys butcher version numbers!

Hey there, Roomba! Welcome to the forums! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
I tested this on my own Snow Leopard machine, but was unable to reproduce it. Does simply closing the second Firefox 6 window fix the problem? Do you have specific sites/web apps open in the second window? I am just trying to see if there is some detail we are missing. if you can reproduce this using specific sites and are willing to share the exact setup (either here or in a private message), I will see if I can reproduce it here.
Additionally, I suggest that you update to OS X 10.6.8. I am assuming that 3.6.3 for 1Password was a typo, but if not, just make sure 1Password is up to date (1Password menu > Check for Updates) and then install the latest Safari extension (1Password menu > Install Extensions).
And then I am also pleased to direct you to Jeff's awesome blog post which not only includes the comic you mentioned but discusses just that. It's like he wrote it for you! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Finally, I see your point. We are fighting an uphill battle, I am afraid. (Our Forum Choreographer is a huge fan of 1Password 3.<img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/emoticon-0103-cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='8)' />.Flag 0
