THE DETAILS:

I changed laptops 10 days ago and copied my drive over via carbon copy cloner. (Still using OS 10.6.8 )

My 1Password data is on Dropbox.

I upgraded the desktop 1Password app to 3.8.5 (Build 31141) via the program

I installed the new Safari extension.

Decided to change the Master Password, and sure enough ran into the bug that doesn't update the new browser extension. Fine. Can live with that.

But in the course of doing this, realized that the desktop app has not registered a new password since August 30, 2011.

My browser extension, on the other hand, has retained the passwords created since August 30, 2011.

WHAT SCARES ME, and I need advice

Checked out the troubleshooting because I thought Sync was the problem.

Sync asks me to choose between my computer name and Dropbox.

But I don't know where the browser extension data file is located.

Scared to do anything without some advice.

What do I have to do, and where?

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

If I understand correctly, you browser extension has a newer copy of your data.

This should be fine. If you unlock both 1Password and the browser extension then the sync will happen automatically and the new data will appear in 1Password.

We also fixed the problem with master password changing in 3.8.5.
