Will 1Password support iCloud sync? [Answered]

Hi guys, I recently bought 1Password from the MAS, really great deal.



The question is simple, will 1Password support iCloud when it will be ready? I'm a developer too and I know that right now iCloud is pretty buggy, i just want to know if you guys planned to add this kind of support in the future. It really would be great because I don't use Dropbox but only WiFi sync that works great but must be done manually.

Hi sgtbash, welcome to the forums!



We're very interested into supporting it but we do not have anything to share beyond that. iCloud is still pretty deep in development and a lot of things can change between now and its launch. As soon as we do, we'll announce it here and our blogs.

I'm pretty sure after a few solid updates and iOS 5 hits iCloud will be ready for primetime and the ideal solution for Mac users to leverage.

Yes, iCloud support was one of the main reasons version 3.9 is Lion-only. We are working on it but I cannot give you any timelines at the moment.

Dropbox works great for me, but I wouldn't mind seeing some decent competition from Apple. iDisk doesn't count. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

Dropbox is cool and I plan to continue to use it but it'll become secondary sync technology to iCloud in my personal setup. While I and many other 1PW users are savvy enough to setup a Dropbox account and get things working I think the far easier solution will be for new users to leverage iCloud. iDisk certainly doesn't count LOL. That's the slowest WebDav implementation i've ever seen.



I'm also looking forward to 1PW on the iPad supporting the improved Webkit hopefully with tabs as well.
