Hi folks,

This is addressed in the FAQ (question #1): OFFICIAL ANSWERS: 1Password and the Mac App Store

    Step 2 was to delete the old app. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
  • Hi Ben,

Unfortunately I also installed the MAS version before coming across your FAQ. I assumed the old app would be overwritten but instead I now have two apps in my applications folder (new version was automatically put in a "1Password" subfolder). The new app seems to work fine - is it safe to trash the old app now and move the new app to the Applications root?

    Thanks!

Safe to delete the old app but please don't move MAS apps around the file system or you may have issues with updates, etc. MAS puts 1Password into a folder regardless as to if you have the old version installed or not.
