Upgraded to MAS 3.9 without incident

Just to give an alternative to some of the reports, I updated to the MAS 3.9 with no problem whatsoever. I just wish my display settings wouldn't have been reset. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> And I sync with Dropbox.

    Hey hazmat,

    Thanks for the report!

    Ben
  • Yes I installed 3.9 ok then dragged 3.8.5 to the trash all went ok

But the open 1password option in the menu bar helper will not work is this a bug?

Normally I wouldn't bother with a "me too" post, but... Me too.

Remember that one time when the sky was falling because AgileBits screwed over everybody with their Safari 5.1 support and nothing was ever going to work ever again and the bus was on fire and I left my keys on the kitchen counter and I was late for work and we were all going to die and Frank ran out of sandwiches and it was snowing out and I had no thermals and THEN they let a [....] and...

I have a proposition for you guys: Find the three whiniest whiners on these boards and I'll spot them a $20 each for their license. For real.

I, for one, quite like the App Store and don't have a lot of time to dwell on philosophical debates about software distribution. 1Password works, and I find it indispensable regardless of where I purchased it.

I applaud you guys for making a bold move for the better of the product. The fact that other people find it controversial is hilarious to me.
  • Just thought that I would toss in my feedback as well to this thread. I upgraded to 3.9 via the MAS and have had no problems. I'm using Dropbox and running Lion 10.7.1. The strange thing that I found was only that it installed to the Applications folder within it's own folder. No big deal, no real problems at all.

Great work and the cost of buying it through the app store considering you get 4.0 is worth it.

    Thanks folks! We appreciate the feedback. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
  • My install was as smooth as summer cherries.

Lion

iPad

2 iPhones

all synced through Dropbox
Great product!

    Thanks!
  • Another me too. Not a single problem with 3.9 and Dropbox. Very happy. Thank you.
  • Well, as mush as I don't like the new 5.1 extension and as much as I have deep concerns regarding the attitude of certain Agile members on this forum I decided to buy the MAS version. NOT on the back of the current mess, but on the back of what 1Password has done for me in the past and how much I use is everyday.

My 1Password migration to MAS was smooth. I moved the app to trash, uninstalled the extension and then downloaded the MAS version. Dropbox working, extension working etc. 1Password even seems a little faster to me.

I just hope now that Agile can pull their socks up and live up to their former glory. Not play this current role that is perceived by customers to be deceptive and less than honest.

BTW, the Menu bar is a VERY welcome addition. You guys should post screenshots of this to show people what it is/does. If you can add the detection of the current site to it (Like the right click menu), then that would be awesome!

We appreciate the vote of confidence. Seriously. I'll be the first to admit that we are currently experiencing some growing pains along with the troubles that two very major browser releases along with an OS release within a matter of weeks has caused. I'm confident that our developers will pull this off and everything will be right as rain. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Thank you for your support.

Is it necessary to uninstall the browser extensions? I deleted the 1Password app before downloading the MAS version and haven't had any problems but I did not remove the extensions. Still have the beta 3.8.3 b3 on Safari and Firefox.

It is not normally required, no.
