browser extensions do not update (FF, Safari and Chrome)
Hi,
First, thanks for an excellent product.
I am running Lion 10.7.1 and 1P 3.8.5 - just upgraded 1P. However on the 3.8.4 upgrade I noticed this problem, and still have the same.
When I click on Upgrade Browser Extension, or install them from the Preferences panel, I am taken to the website for the downloads. I run Firefox 6.0.2 as my main browser, but also use Safari and Chrome, all the latest versions.
Once the updates are downloaded and install, they seem to be the older versions still.
Firefox and Safari are showing version 3.8.2 and Chrome is showing 3.6.3.30953. I can't seem to get the correct downloads from the website. I have removed the extensions, quite the browers, restarted, re-downloaded, and still have the same problem. I just can't get any of them to the 3.8.5 update.
Things still appear to work, so that's not an issue.
Help!!!
Thanks...
Barry
EDIT: I just realized that this is posted in the wrong area - I think. Sorry

Hi roustem,
Wow - I've been reading the 18+ page thread on the MAS debate. I'm a mod on a forum, and you couldn't pay me enough to take on this one. I can understand why my post was missed now.
I do thank you for your answer, and did a quick test I should have done earlier. I have another copy of Lion (and Server) running on another partition for testing purposes. I noticed the same thing when I upgraded 1P on it today. I have to assume that the latest extensions for Firefox and Safari are 3.8.2, but that was a bit confusing to me when I upgraded I think from 3.8.2 to 3.8.4 and then 3.8.5. I guess I expected the extension numbering to follow suit. That doesn't appear to be the case, and now it makes sense that they are developed separately, and not necessarily simultaneously - meaning an upgrade to 1P does not necessitate an upgrade to an extension. Which is really what you wanted - correct? I'm hoping my assumptions are correct.
Anyway - thanks again for a great product. I'll have to post a success story one of these days. Right now I'm evaling the Windows version on a Bootcamp installation of Win 7. (I remember now why I switched to the Mac years ago!)Flag 0 -
Thank you, Barry! I really needed your kind words at the end of a long day!
You are right, the extensions are now updated separately from 1Password and the version numbers will almost never match. I am still not sure how to make it obvious -- it has been a pretty big issue.
I sent you an anther email from our website, just in case you'd like to keep that Windows version.Flag 0 -
Hey - you guys deserve it.
I never received an email from you and I have checked my spam folder and double checked my address in my profile.
Nada - nothing - did you hit the Send button? <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />
PS: What's an anther? I've spent some time in Canada, but I've never heard that one - eh?Flag 0
