Fool me once . . .

So, after reading a very positive thread about 1P on macrumors.com, and also several third-party reviews, I bought 1P maybe 5 or 6 weeks ago. Fooled me once, because 1P is broken with Lion/Firefox 6.x, although threads posted here and in the blog promised fixes and updates.

Still waiting, still not working, and then I see there's an update available in the MAS, for only $20 more. Now we're at $60, plus the iPhone app. Fooled me twice, because 1P 3.9 STILL doesn't work with Lion/Firefox 6.x. In fact, the browser extension hasn't been updated at all (I've got the lastest beta installed now).

Really, you clowns feel OK selling a product, TWICE, which is still broken, while at the same time claiming the update fixes all issues? Your fault for scamming me the first time, my own fault for falling for the same scam a second time.

I've been using the latest stable version of 1Password with Firefox 6 since version 6's release. Maybe you're using the old extension, which no longer works with the newest versions of Firefox. The new one is based on the Jetpack framework, and has been decoupled from 1Password. You can download it from here: https://agilebits.com/extensions/mac/index.html

I'm currently using version 3.8.2 of the extension in Firefox 7 beta 4. It also works in Firefox 6. I'd check your extension version first, before calling it a scam - because if 1Password is one thing, it's not that.

co-signed. Check to make sure your extensions have been updated. I only use Firefox as a backup browser to Safari and haven't noticed any problems.
  • Firefox works fine for me. I use 1Password 3.9, Firefox 6.0.2, and 1P Extension 3.8.3.b3.

    Hi alfamale,

Hopefully our community members answers above have been helpful. In addition, could you please send me a private message containing a link to this thread as well as the email address you used to purchase 1Password from our store with? I'd like to issue a refund, if possible.

    Thanks!

Yeah they all work well for me. The chrome extension sticks periodically, but I just have to wait a minute or two and then it decides to cooperate <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Same setup I'm using, under Lion, on 2 different machines. 1P works OK in Safari, but in Firefox it fails to record login info, nor will it use info already stored from Safari logins. This is the same issue I've had since day one, and no updates have worked. Looking at the threads in these fora, as well as the reviews in the MAS, I'm hardly the only user having problems. The fact that 1P works for some users doesn't mean much to those of us with issues, and sorry, but how else would one be expected to react? I'm a very experienced Mac user, but I'm not a software engineer, and I shouldn't have to be.

Thanks, Ben, I appreciate your concern, but I'd really rather have the software working more than I'd like a refund. Can those of us with Firefox/Lion issues expect a fix, and do you at least recognize there is a problem?
