Multiple macs and shared dropbox folder

I have a family licence and am using the Dropbox sync and a shared folder so that two people, on more than two different machines can share the same database, using different Dropbox accounts.

All my machines have Lion installed. I also use an iPad and an iPhone with 1Password on both devices.

I understand that the Mac App Store will let me install 1Password on all my machines as long as the Apple ID used on them is the same (which it is).

My question is: does the shared dropbox folder work with the new version?

Thank you.

EllenH

PS: I searched but didn't find a reply to this specific question.

  • I am using a similar configuration and need to know if I will still be able to use a shared folder in dropbox to share the 1Password file with someone with a different dropbox account.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

As currently setup, the 1Password data file must exist at ~/Dropbox/1Password.agilekeychain in order to work. If you can get Dropbox to share it from that location, then there should be no problems. I'm not sure if Dropbox has the capability of sharing a file that is in the "root" folder though. It looks like it can, in this case, as Dropbox sees the keychain as a folder.
