I had to use one of my identities - which I have my sons birthday and SSN and while at bank I noticed they are not there. Yes I know I should remember my sons birthday but I am getting old :) Does anyone know if it is a setting from 1password from mac that I need to change?

Sorry for the inconvenience, inthegetto, there is no setting to change for this. Identities are not currently sync'ed to 1Password touch. This is something that may change in the future, but we don't have any concrete plans.

This is very unfortunate and is a real shortcoming in the touch version. I hope to see a change soon. Why have it in one version and not in the other?

i agree that 1Password for iPhone should sync identities. I have multiple addresses saved there plus other details and was wondering where they were since everything else is synced.

this seems to have been a design choice on the part of developers and not a technical limitation so i recommend just adding it to one of the secondary menus for those people that need it or make it a selectable option in the settings.

    Hi, pendolino

You're right, this is more of a design choice than a limitation. As Gita mentioned this is something we're considering for a future update, but we don't have a timeframe on this right now. The original idea behind identities was to make it easy for you to fill online forms with your details, and as we can't currently do this with the built-in browser on the iPhone we decided it didn't make much sense to include this.

Clearly our users have found a different use fro the Identities feature and as such we need to look at adapting to this, but we do have a lot of the information you'd want to store for an identity available through Wallet items right now and in the future we're hoping to allow you to create your own templates and customise the existing ones.

Thanks for the feedback though, we really do appreciate it.

I would also like to say that I was surprised when I did not find this synched on my iPhone and was left hunting for it when I needed to give my address and phone details at a bank. ( I too have multiple addresses). I had to go back home and send it later from my Mac. Duplicating the same info in 1Password thru wallet is an overhead.

I use 1Password on my iPhone as my portable secure Vault for my own lookup. Any data which is not synched from my MAC does limit my ability to be productive. I feel that your users will understand that there are limitations on the iPhone which will not give the same functionality as on a mac, but depriving them the choice of accessing their own data does leave a negative taste behind especially when 1Password is known to be well designed tool.

I hope this feature is not thrown down in priority. We need this!

    Thanks,

I think that's exactly the use-case that we weren't expecting, in my case I have this information in my iPhone under my contact card within the Contacts app so I can easily share this card with people via MMS / E-Mail. Clearly users like yourself want to store this in 1Password and have this on the iPhone, so we need to consider this.

I don't think it was ever intentional to deprive users of information, as I mentioned above it seems to be an oversight on our part not thinking about how people may use the feature, from our point of view Identities are mainly used to fill online forms and not for accessing personal information on the go.

Given how many people have said they'd like to see this, both on the forums and via our support e-mail, it's something we need to consider but I can't say if and when we'll able to implement it on the iPhone version.

Thanks for the feedback, we always appreciate hearing how users want to use features and if we've misunderstood things.
