I have two questions :

- How to find the "classic plugin" in Firefox: (button in the menu bar?) I prefer this hugely version!

- My 1Password does not respond when I enter a new password? Why ?...

I use :

- Mac OS X Lion,

- Firefox 6,

- 1Password v.3.8.5

Thanks.

    Hi there,

    Sorry for the delayed reply.

The old version of the plugin does not work in Firefox 6. Mozilla made some big changes in this version and it is not possible to use the old version with it.

Autosave is not currently working in Firefox 6 (due to the changes I mentioned above). We hope to have this working soon. In the mean time... Please try saving the login manually like this:

    1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and select the "+" button in the upper right hand corner.

    3. Change the title and make any notes (if desired).

    4. Click the Save button in the upper right hand corner.

I hope that helps and explains the situation.

    Thanks

    Ben

    Thank you for your reply.

    Auto-save works again. But…

    - The current plugin is really extremely slow. The animations are not essential... Do you have a solution?

    - No way to store a new password immediatly in a folder, I open the 1Password software to do it. Complicated…

    Hi oliv,

Yes, I'm happy to report that autosave in Firefox should now work. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I'm not sure why the plugin would be slow... it is quite fast on my computer. You can disable some animations in 1Password > Preferences > Advanced and check the box for disable lock and unlock animations. What do you have for a computer where it is running slow?

We are aware of the need for folders in the extension and are working on the best way to implement them.

    Thanks!
  • Good news for Folders and autosave <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />

Preferences > Advanced > disable lock and unlock animations is for the software "1Password" (very fast here).

This is the Firefox plugin is very slow : 5 seconds each time I open the plugin!

    I use Firefox on 7 Mac OS X 10.7

Hey there, oliv! I just got Firefox 7 too, and was excited that the extension is still working well.

Regarding performance, it is now necessary to do all of the decryption in javascript within the extension, and this can slow things down a bit. The main 1Password application is using native code, as it is a full-fledged Mac application! The animations aren't the performance bottleneck, they are just there because 1) they look nice and 2) we want to give you an indication that something is happening as 1Password accesses your data. Granted, 5 seconds doesn't sound quite right to me. I am using a 15" MacBook Pro from early 2008(!) and it comes up for me in about a half second. if you are running a newer machine than mine, there may be other Firefox extensions dragging you down. It isn't known for its speed, sadly, but it looks like Mozilla is working on changing that! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
  • Thanks Brenty,

    I have a MBP oct-2008 too, with 8Go ram, but… 1P_plugin start in 5s <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/emoticon-0106-crying.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';(' />

I was talking about animations because it is a little... "jerky"(?)

I realize that the window to enter a new password pop up quickly (<1s) : could there be a problem with the search window password?

(I dream of a support in French, but until this text is translated by Google Translate reels, I hope it is understandable…)
