As the title says, the login is not working.

  • Are you able to save a Login item for the site, as described in Saving a Login item in the Tutorials section of the user's guide?

If so, are you able to use the Login, as described in Using a saved Login item?

I am able to save the login but when i want to login, 1P fills the form and the website starts as if nothing had happened and asks me to fill the fields
  • Thanks for the follow-up.

I don't have an account at that site, but I've just visited the site, entered fake credentials, saved a Login item, revisited the site, and invoked 1Password to fill the form with the saved credentials:
I don't bother submitting the form, because my fake ID and PIN would fail; but 1Password is doing the "save Login" and "use Login" just as expected. (The form-fill worked with Ctrl+\, too)

Sorry for my late reply. Yes you are right. 1Password is doing exactly as you recorded. But when you submit the form, the login is going to fail an you are on the same website as before.

Some web site forms simply don't accept data automatic submission (typically a well-intended, if misguided, effort to prevent "bots" from trying to break in through brute force).

Please try this: Edit your saved Login item for that site, and set the Submit option to Never; then go to the site in your browser, press Ctrl+\ (so 1Password fills the fields), and submit the form by hand.

Does the form work correctly then? If so, that is your solution.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Doesnt work <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_sweating.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(sweat)' /> .

Only copying the username and the password one after another into the clipboard and fill the form by hand is working...
  • I'll mention it to the developer, mh153, but I'm not sure what he'll be able to do without a valid account, because logging in with invalid credentials (as in my tests) will always fail.
  • I'm having the same issue with Sparkasse Düsseldorf http://www.sskduesseldorf.de/ or https://bankingportal.sskduesseldorf.de/portal/portal/Starten or http://www.sparkasse-duesseldorf.de.

The problem exists with 1Password for Windows and for Mac.

All 446 german savings banks are using the same data center named Finanz Informatik http://www.f-i.de/ with headquater in Frankfurt (but some savings banks are still in a conversion from the former data center system). So all 420 savings banks are having a very similar website and it seems they are all using the same security mechanism to avoid an automatic login.

If you find a solution for one of the http://www.sparkasse-<cityname>.de websites it should work for all.
  • Thanks for the additional info, NX70.

After spending a few hours on this, I suddenly realized there is an easy fix, and it is called Auto-Type.

Because Auto-Type currently does not work in the browser extensions (read: without the 1Password app running), I decided to add Auto-Type as an additional option to the browser extensions.

Starting with the next build, whenever you edit an existing login item, there's a new checkbox labelled "use Auto-Type in web browsers". When enabled, then our browser extensions will Auto-Type this particular login, and ignore all other form filling logic.
  • Cool, Stefan! This is now documented in the FAQ section of the user's guide.
  • Cool, thank you very much.

    That works perfectly
  • That's great news! Thanks for updating the thread.

As this works very good in the Windows versions, would it be possible to add this feature to the Mac version as well?

    Regards, Carsten
  • Come on, Carsten—we have to stay ahead of our Mac team in some ways! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

(I know they'd like to have it, but I don't know whether there's been any effort put forth, yet.)
